2010 Mystery Quilt

So, even though I decided to devote 2010 to making more art quilts, I spent the first day of this new year making a traditional one. I participated in the Planet Patchwork's (http://www.planetpatchwork.com/) New Year's Day mystery quilt, where instructions are posted every hour, and you make the quilt top not knowing what it will look like when it's finished. I've done one of their one day mysteries before, for New Year's Day, 2007.

I used commercial fabrics by Moda; the Berries and Twigs collection from last year. I like the way it turned out.
This is a quick pic. This weekend I'll try to sandwich and quilt it with a leaf motif. If I don't get to it, it'll be a good project to take to my quilt retreat in April.

  1. Looks Good TONI, I am jealous, wish I had done it now. Oh well, there is always next year. :)

  2. Great mystery quilt. It looks like you are enjoying what you are enjoying in the moment.
Nothing wrong with that - tomorrow may be art, are whatever else strikes your fancy.

  4. So here it is almost two years later. After looking at this a while, I decided I didn't really like it. So I took it apart last fall and used pieces for a table topper. I'll post a pic.
